Fishtail braid kinda day...
Remember the vintage purse from Day 1? Here's the other side. Lurve.
I feel like this is profile pic worthy.

Day 2: Uh...not sure this is my thing...
Wow. It took me almost a week to post day 2! yikes.
Here's the thing: Day 3 was a fashion fail. I put together an outfit and left the house in it. About half way through the day I still felt off about my outfit and concluded that it appeared as though a condo decorator in the Florida panhandle had gotten ahold of me. It was not good.
So, I came home and tried on a different bottom with it. Nope. Third option? Still nope. I decided I would remove this top from my thirty. And the first pants from outfit 3 as well.
I decided I probably didn't do a great job of picking 30 items that were really all that diverse or that I even L.o.v.e.d. So, blah.
That was Friday. Saturday I wore a cute outfit within my 30 but forgot to take pics. Sunday, same thing.
And honestly? Can't promise I'll keep to my thirty. boo. I can share more later but life is a little nuts right now. However, I'm committed to getting dressed every day so that's something, right?
On to day 2!
Yes, I stole the idea of the bow placement from Atlantic-Pacific. Her's is better. She's amazing, frankly.
Top: Old Navy
Belt: F21
Jeans: AE

Day 1: Here we go!
Not only is this day one of my 30 in 30 challenge, but it's my first lesson in photo shop from The Mister. More than that outfit up there, I need you to notice the #1. It's fancy. It takes this blog to a whole new level, people. For reals.
Okay, now that that's out of the way, this is one of my fav pieces. It's vintage. It belonged to my boss' mom back in the day AND it's reversible. Boom.
Shirt: Banana Outlet
Jeans: H&M
Belt: F21
Shoes: Garage Sale (Target)
And can I just say, that you guys are great? Starting a new blog is always a little daunting especially something like this. Since putting myself out there on Thrifters Anonymous, EBEW and the 30 Outfit challenge, you guys have been so encouraging! This whole sub-culture of fashion bloggers is so kind! I love it! Thanks guys! Make sure you leave your blog addy in your comment so I know where to find you too!

Hippest Dad as confirmed by Original Penguin...
Okay, friends, would love a little help from your clicking-ness. (it's totally a word.)
On Facebook there's a contest for photo of "Hippest Dad" and the winner gets oodles of Original Penguin clothes. Yes, please. I entered a Jodie pic (pre-Fresh Art) of the Mister and the Little and it's a finalist!
Now we need votes. Click here and simply "like" the pic of them. It's the very first one of the Mister helping the Little with his tie in front of a crazy wall of vines and stuff. Not sure if you have to "like" the Original Penguin page first or not.
That's all. Happy Monday to you and yours!
If that link isn't working, try this one?

30 in 30: Sir Remix-a-lot
Kendi Everyday was one of the first fashion/style blogs I found that I instantly loved. When she announced she was doing another 30 for 30 challenge for herself I decided this would be a great challenge for myself as well.
I recently cut my work hours to one day a week to hang with my Little over the summer. Everyone knows SAHM's aren't known for their fashionable ways and rightfully so. Today I'm sporting a pair of yogas and an old Mizzou t-shirt. I didn't even go to Mizzou. And there you have it. ha! So, hopefully this will be a great way to keep me outta some u.g.l.y (you ain't got no alibi...)habits.
Excuse my pic quality. Not sure what my problem is. =/
13 tops
2 Cardi's
5 shoes
3 skirts and 1 pair of shorts
2 dresses
5 pair of pants
And there it is. 30 fav pieces for the summer! Click here to see the other participants!

Everybody Everywear: Lace!
This is my first submission to this collaborative effort! I love assignments. It's the teacher in me. Can't help it. It's endearing? *insert awkward smile*.
Glasses: F21
Lace top: oldie from Jimmyz
White Jeans: H&M
Shoes: garage sale (Target)
Belts: F21, Gap, JCrew
Watch and bangles: Charming Charlies
Purse: China town, NYC
This has been my go-to do lately. I have layers, so a loose side braid doesn't work without a gaggle of bobby pins. So, insert new idea. I start with a loose french braid on one side of my head and work around the back and down into a loose side braid. Dunzo.

Wah?!
St. Louis is experiencing what you might want to call a heat wave.
Heat monsoon.
So, there's not much to share outfit-wise because I quit wearing clothes.
All together. It's too hot. I gave up.
But seriously, between the heat and my change in work schedule due to my little being out of school, my outfits are pretty low key. It's a phase though. Both the heat and my laziness...
I will share a little tidbit though. I got to take a client shopping last night. While she tried on about 20 dresses I picked, I got to hang out in the F21 dressing rooms. I observe 2 O.V.E.R.W.H.E.L.M.I.N.G. trends. Like 90% of the girls.
The first was the feathers. I know I just posted about this but they were on EVERY HEAD. From 8 yr olds to 50+ yr olds. Some recognizable faces sporting them?
From what I've been told, this is the guy who started the trend. Doesn't really matter to me, I just love 'em!
Moving on.
The second trend was the romper. I am deeply in love with this trend but with some stipulations. Body shape, age, and like with anything, size you purchase.
If someone tied me to a chair and made me buy one, I'd get this one. Or this one. Or maybe even this one?
Or if I completely lost my mind and had no responsibilities in life: this one.

Summer must-have #2 and #3, cuz I'm efficient like that.
I saw these new nail things and kinda had to try them. I was intrigued! Which led to obsession. Which led to a purchase. (see how that happens?)
They were trickier to apply than I thought they'd be but I'm loving the overall look. The reviews say they last 10 days to 2 weeks but I'm skeptical. I shall report back. It's my civic duty. It's the least I could do.
Next up? Feather extensions. A friend had a kit and offered to put a couple in my hair. (read: forced me into a chair and put them in.) (not really) And now I'm in love. Don't be surprised if my head is covered in them the next time you see me.
